28/05/2015 - Chingford Harriers AGM / Presentation night

The season concluded for the Harriers after the Cranes United game. There was one fixture left the play but the league were unable to accommodate this due to Cup commitments for the opposition, Chingford Town. However, even with a win in this game the Harriers would still have been relegated due to the gap between 10th and 11th, where the Harriers finished. The AGM / Presentation night was held on Thursday 28th May at the Woodford Wells Club to recap the season gone, hand out the customary player awards and to discuss plans for the new season. Well done to the following players on their achievements this season:

The draws for all EAFL cup competitions have taken place, with the Harriers included in the Fenton Cup (teams from all divisions) and the Premier Division Cup.

The majority of teams start the Fenton Cup in Round 2 with only one fixture to be played in Round 1. The Harriers will meet cup-holders Chingford Athletic away on November 1st to start off this adventure. In the Premier Division Cup, the Harriers were automatically drawn into the Quarter Finals due to the number of teams involved (13 total). The Harriers opponent is yet to be confirmed, but it will be played at home against Chingford Athletic or Cranes United.

Both finals will be played at Dagenham & Redbridge FC's Victoria Road stadium later in 2015.

30/08/2014 - Singh Sabha Barking 3 - 1 Chingford Harriers

The Harriers completed their pre-season schedule against an energetic Singh Sabha side which resulted in a 3-1 victory for the home team.

23/08/2014 - Chingford Harriers 0 - 2 AAH Romford

A very positive first half for the Harriers, but a lack of conviction in front goal throughout the game saw the Harriers drawing a blank. AAH Romford put the game out of reach with two second half goals.

18/08/2014 - Season preparations and opening fixtures

There was no pre-season game for the Harriers this weekend but some useful time spent by the squad working on various football drills at Larkswood Playing Fields. Looking ahead to the final season preparations, the Harriers face AAH Romford this weekend (August 23rd) followed by Singh Sabha Barking the following weekend (August 30th). The Harriers last faced Singh Sabha in February 2011 playing in Division 1 of the IDFL and this forthcoming season they will competing in Division 2 of the EAFL.

Those games will bring the Harriers right up to the start of the season and the fixtures have been released by EAFL for the first four weeks of the season. The Harriers first game is on September 6th and will be at home against May & Baker EC A, who will be a new opponent for the Harriers (and many other teams in the division) joining the EAFL via the Essex Business Houses Football League. The Harriers have no game on September 13th but will meet Eastside Rangers on September 20th. The Harriers met Eastside Rangers in the 2012/13 League Cup final, winning 2-0 with the goals coming from Paul Shawyer and Mitchell Goodwin. This will be the first away game and a return to Wanstead Flats, where the Harriers have played a large number of away games over the past few seasons.

The Harriers last game scheduled in September will be the first of 6 Chingford derbies to take place during the season. Chingford Athletic will have the honour of hosting the first one of these when the Harriers visit on September 27th. This may also coincide with the arrival of the Harriers new yellow away shirts!
